Fairly Odd Painting
5-16-11 (1 hour painting) Brought to you from the internet!! Yet another excellent photograph of a cosplay that I did not make or photograph myself. I could not resist tackling this one. I love Cosmo from Fairly Odd Parents! He's such an idiot, but his character is so genuinely sweet, you can overlook it.... Most times... It's my theory about how his wife puts up with him anyway, "well, he's cute" can only take you so far... 0.o
It was a challenge painting this guy for many reasons. I have trouble locking in the base values of the face, but I think was able to salvage it a bit towards the end of my hour. (*whew) I also think I need to go back to some earlier chapters in my Vilppu Drawing Manual again, my anatomy is off. Though it could be because my wrist hurts so much today that it is a bit of a challenge upon a challenge to man a wacom tablet with the brace on your drawing hand.

New Brush
5-12-11 (1 hour painting) Yay! Blogger's up again! I wanted to post this last night...
So I now know why my work is being described as "feathery" even though I am using an solid brush in Photoshop. I have been using the solid brush that is sensitive to pen pressure by mistake. Glad that little mystery is solved. That's a "*bangs head on keyboard" moment, to say the least. So to make up for lost time, I tried to tackle a very complex photograph that I found a while back online of a Samus cosplayer. I don't know her name or the photographer, unfortunately...
Anyway, I think I should have started on something a bit less complicated.... This one feels like a step backwards. Also I feel that somehow with this brush, it looks more "feathery" now, at least along the edges, than ever before. Oh well, just have to keep at it.

Narrow View
5-1-11 (1 hour painting) This is a painting of a photograph that I took from the "Narrow Bridge" overlooking an estuary, at low tide, near sunset.

Flower Fail
04-29-11 (1 hour painting) I forgot something important about painting and did not remember it until I was too far into this to go back. Whoops. I need to be more mindful of it next time. I got the original photograph off of Deviant Art.

Maiko-san
04-27-11 (1 hour painting+) I wish that I had more time for this one, I was enjoying it tremendously. Maiko-san have the most lover blends in the skin to paint and I did not have time to do it justice. Maybe I will do a different Maiko-san later. Another photograph found online that I do not own.

Stained Glass Angel
4-26-11 (1 hour painting) I tried to copy a photograph of a stained glass window that I found online.... Results are mixed at best.... I do not own the original photograph.

Blue Sky Somewhere
It probably does not look like the moonlight, but that is what it happens to be. I thought it interesting how somehow there was blue sky at night. I got the reference for this painting off the internet, I don't own the original.

Rock Landscape
4-24-11 (1 hour painting) I think it comes off more like a scene from alien planet out of Calvin and Hobbes than an actual desert rock formation. Better luck next time. I do not own the original photograph that I used to paint this.
Deer Me!
04-23-11 (45 minute painting) Sorry about the pun. Photograph for this painting was found on Deviantart a long time ago. I do not own the photograph. Hm, made the neck too long....
Bull's Eye?
04-19-11 (1 hour painting) The photograph for this painting was taking by a friend of my sister. I wish I had had time to put in all the arrows.
Channeling Georgia O'Keeffe
04-18-11 (1 hour painting) I wish I had spent two hours on this painting. This one is a photograph that I believe that I took in Japan. The landscaper was very wise to plant these trees and bushed with flowers that bloomed year round! I would kiss that genius if I knew who they were. You do not know how nice it is to see something colorful and alive in the middle of winter when you are studying and cold!

Too tired to paint?
04-17-11 (1/2 hour painting) I tried to paint for a hour that day. Tried being the word. I was so tired I did not know what I was doing half the time. I got as far as a half hour and decided to count my losses when I was falling asleep at the tablet and painting like a kindergartner with reservations about drawing in the lines. The photograph I used for reference is one I found on Deviantart a long time ago. I do not own the original.
One of my Favorite Couples
04-16-11 (2 hour photograph) I love Jack and Sally. I made a frame to work within when I discovered that the size was to big to work with the dimensions of the photograph. I was on a roll, I did not want to stop and play around with the canvas size. This photograph was also one of Bri-Chan's from Deviantart. I do not own it.
Did I hit a Brick Wall ?
04-14-11 (1 hour painting) Brick wall photograph from the internet. I don't known the original. I do not know what to say about this one other than the title.
Oooh Pirate Flag!
4-13-11 (1 hour painting) Thank you Bri-Chan for taking so many wonderful photographs and posting them for all to see! This Photoshop speed painting was from a Disney party attended by Devianart's famous Bri-Chan (she's not the model though). Guess who costume is suppose to be? I do not own anything from the original photograph.
Beautiful Contrast
04-12-11 (1 hour painting) This photograph is from the internet too. I wanted to try my luck with extreme color variations. I do not own the original photograph.
Number 3
04-11-11 (1 hour painting) Another Photoshop Kingdom Hearts Cosplay Painting brought to you by the internet!!
I don't own the photo this painting was copied from.

Take 2!
04-10-11 (1 hour painting) Take 2! My fandom helps me muck through the frustration! Kingdom Hearts and costume design!
This was a painting of a photograph I found off the internet in a google image search under "Kingdom Hearts cosplay". I do not know who is the model, the costumer maker or the photographer, but I do know that I do not own anything in this photograph nor do I claim to own anything but my own art. The lighting was awesome in the photograph too. Unfortunately, the lighting was lost in this attempt to copy it. Just keep at it!

The First of Many
04-09-11 (1 hour painting) I am trying to improve my painting skills in Photoshop. It started off awkward at best. I have experience painting on canvas but on Photoshop, it is a whole different animal. The Mixer Brush tool was pretty much known to me until recently so my painting skills in Photoshop evolved apart from it. Such a notion suits the subject matter of the first photograph I tried to paint. TRON LEGACY!!
